Being a blogger and having a baby I have been offered a number of baby related products to try out when bump arrives. One of those was the Avent 3-in-1 Electric Steam Steriliser. Although I plan to breastfeed I also hope to express and at some stage bottle feeding I’m sure will come into play too so a steriliser was an essential.
When I had preschooler I had a phillips steriliser that my neighbour gave me which she had used with both her boys, it was round and bulky and took up plenty of space in my parents kitchen! So when I heard about Avents new one and the fact it had three options for useage I was intrigued to give it a try!
Now obviously I haven’t started using it yet but I figured I’d give you my first impressions on this product!
Designed to be used in three ways, with both the large container and small container stacked on top of one another, or with just the small or just the large container you have plenty of space for as many bottles and bits and bobs that you need to sterilise as required.
The steriliser fits all bottle types, both wide and narrow necked bottles. It is fast with a 6 minute cycle and automatic shut off! Its made from all important BPA Free materials and is effective at killing 99.9% germs. Once sterilised if not opened the contents remain sterile for 24 hours.
One of the things I really like about the product is that it is slimline! It fits easily on my kitchen work-surface where a round one would have taken up the whole area I am able to push this one flat against the wall and still have a decent space, and I have a TINY kitchen! For me space was going to be an important feature in getting a steriliser this time as I have one tiny patch of kitchen for doing chopping etc and so wanted one that wasn’t going to eat into that space!
So far I am impressed by it and I’m sure when I start using it knowing that the contents are going to be sterile in 6 minutes no doubt will be a huge bonus over my previous one which I’m sure was a heck of alot longer!
I have made a little video of how easy it is to change the product between its 3 different capacities which you can see below:
