Pure Determination…

Tomorrow night. Saturday the 29th September. I am going to be walking 26 miles around London. Yeah 26 miles. A full marathon…

I did the Moonwalk a few months ago. The half one. 13.5 miles. That hurt… a fair bit. I’d trained for that.

This time around due to moving house, school holidays, work commitments and general life getting in the way I haven’t done anywhere near as much training as I would have liked. I’m scared. I’m really scared. I know its going to be painful come Sunday/Monday and maybe even still on Tuesday…

But I’m going to do it because I’ve had people kind enough to donate to Cancer Research, and specifically for the research of Breast Cancer. Its just over a year now since my Nanny was diagnosed. I’m lucky at the moment she is clear. The thought that it may return in the other side petrifies me and I’m just praying daily that it doesn’t happen. It was horrible seeing one of the strong female figures in my life in pain. She was so strong throughout her operations and treatment and I don’t know how she managed it. I know the pain I’m going to endure for a few days after doing 26 miles is going to be nothing like the weeks of pain she went through recovering from her surgeries.

I’m walking it with my brothers girlfriend. We are banking on the fact we haven’t seen each other for a couple of weeks so we are going to have alot to talk about to keep us going. Neither one of us has trained more than the other so we are on a level playing field so its not like we’ll be holding each other up.

I haven’t decided what I’m wearing. I don’t know what time we are leaving. I haven’t packed my bag. I am unbelieveably unprepared in comaprsion to how I was prior to the moonwalk. But I know ultimately all I need is my two feet. To keep putting one foot in front of the other. Until I reach the finish line. Sometime during the early hours of Sunday morning!

Wish me luck!

And a huge thank you to all the lovely bloggers that have sponsored me so far! You know who you are! 😀
