Reconnecting with friends

With the power of the internet now we are able to stay in touch with our friends without even stepping out of our front door. Gone are the days of visiting each others houses to catch up and talk. Now we just have to open our phone and log in to Facebook or any other social media outlet where we are able to talk to our nearest and dearest.

Research by Goodfellas recently showed that one in every four friends is now completely digital to us! Thats a pretty sad fact isn’t it!

So when Goodfellas sent me a ‘Chillax’ Pack which contained everything we needed to have a good catch up including a couple of bottles of wine I contacted my two best friends who I don’t get to see nearly enough and we set a date that worked for us all!

We sat down and enjoyed a few slices of the new goodfellas pizza, some healthier salad and some nice snacks whilst catching up on crap TV and general life events.

It was nice just being able to spend time together, without the kids running around, without any other distractions, just talking. I opened up about a few things and as usual my wonderful friends shared their words of wisdom and gave me some things to think about because as usual they know me far better than I know myself at times. And then following a bit of an ebay lesson we spent a while trying on clothes and having a good giggle about what suits us and what doesn’t.

It sounds like a simple night. It doesn’t sound all that exciting. But to me it meant the world. Just having time to reconnect with those I love and to just laugh together. You can’t beat laughing with those who know you best!

Disclosure: We were sent a chillax pack for us to enjoy a girly catch up!

  1. What a lovely evening. My 3 best girl friends are spread across the country. The nearest is 2 hrs away. We mainly stay in touch via social media and the internet. It’s better than nothing, but I really miss them. I miss having somebody who really knows me and I can open up to without fear of being judged. With D loving abroad now, I definitely need to make more of an effort to spend real quality time with good friends like that. I’m really glad you enjoyed your girls’ night in. It sounds like a real treat to me xx
