Race Report : Color Run – Brighton

Yesterday was my 2nd Color Run, again I went back to Brighton. I love the city anyway so any excuse to go there and I am all over it!

We got to the start area at around 1045 pretty much ready to get going and joined the starting pens straight away, we were lucky enough to be in the second wave that set off which was much quicker than we were to get away last year.

The course featured 5 color stations. Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue and Tropicolour! The volunteers were all as enthusiastic as ever at covering you in paint which was awesome. The route is pretty much a straight up and down Maderia drive with one up and back up a lovely slope! We ran the whole course which I have to admit surprised myself as I’ve not been running much recently!

After we finished you get given a colour pack to use for the after party. There were Capri Suns being handed out along with a bottle of water when you finish. We then found the skittle tent which featured a rather unique way of getting skittles, I’ll let you watch my video (Below) to find out how! Metro handed out some free wipes which came in handy to clean my face off later! Virgin Active were doing some free photo opportunity along with Alpen but both had quite a queue so we didn’t bother with these. We stayed around for the after party for a good hour and enjoyed plenty of color throws. The cleaning guy who just kept doing his job meandering through the crowds and getting covered in color was an absolute legend. And the dancing skittles and giant capri sun made for an amusing dance!

Overall I love the color run. Its brilliant! If you haven’t gone to one then you really should! They are such a laugh! Its not about the distance, people walk it too. Its very family friendly with lots of pushchairs and wheelchairs.

See you next year color run!
